Valley Course

A total of 6,424 yards and with neatly placed bunkers and water features make up the 18 hole Valley course designed by Donald Steel in 1992. More important than the overall length is the interest and challenge which each hole presents. As you will find the Crane Valley course is both demanding and varied enough to challenge any golfer.

The River Crane meanders around the par 3 sixth and par 4 eleventh. Indeed, the short sixth is one of the most picturesque in the area and requires an accurate approach shot to the green.

The centre of the course is enhanced by a large lake which can catch out the wayward drive off the third and tenth tees. The 15th green and 16th tee provide panoramic views of the course and surrounding countryside.

The eighteenth hole presents one final challenge. The more ambitious can take the short route and risk flirting with the dense woodland that runs along the left of the fairway. The more cautious can play wide and face a longer second into the well protected green.

The majestic Valley course is a challenge for the best golfer yet not too demanding to spoil the average golfer’s walk through this beautiful Dorset countryside. With the excellent reputation of the course and the superb bar and restaurant facilities, Crane Valley really is the perfect venue for your game.
